The ALICE first aid/compass pouch is a small, versatile nylon accessory for carrying a compass or first aid supplies. Initially made of canvas with a metal snap, it was updated in 1967 to nylon with a plastic snap for better durability in moist conditions. By the 70s, the plastic snap was replaced with a brass one. It has a simple, square design with a belt keeper on the back and a metal snap closure.
