1 Qt Canteen Cover
After considerable experimentation, a 1 Qt Canteen made of olive drab polyethylene and designated the M-1961. This became the Army standard in September of 1962, replacing the aluminum and stainless steel canteens. Which these continued in use as secondary standard until the early 1970s. Introduced in 1966, the M-17A1 protective mask had a drinking tube. They changed the cap of the 1961 canteen by the addition of a small connecting hole in the center of the cap with a cover that snapped into place. Replacement covers were issued for older canteen then in use.
U.S. military genuine issue 1 quart MOLLE olive drab canteen cover and utility pouch. This product is surplus and in good used condition.
NSN: 8465-00-860-0256. Includes 2 snap enclosures and a hook fastener pocket for storing small items. The grommet hole on bottom is for drainage.
This item is U.S. Military genuine issue in used condition. The snaps and straps are functional but are not in brand new condition and will show signs of use including fading, scratches, stains or minor imperfections due to actual field use by the U.S. military. Some items may contain markings from the U.S. government, manufacturer or soldiers.
